The thousand years

"Then I saw an angel coming down from Heaven,
holding in his hand the key of the abyss
and a heavy chain.
He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent - that is, the devil,
or Satan - and chained him up for a thousand years.
The angel threw him into the abyss, locked it, and sealed it."

The woman and the dragon

"There was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns
and a crown on each of his heads.
He stood in front of the woman,
in order to eat her child as soon as it was born.
Then she gave birth to a son.
The dragon was furious with the woman
and went off to fight against the rest of her descendants."
